New Show Friday 09.09.16
MarbellaNOW #90 takes us sailing! We’re back in the Puerto Deportivo in the heart of Marbella and setting up camp in the Royal Maritime Club (Real Club Marítimo de Marbella).
The club was inaugurated nearly 60 years ago and was officially awarded with the Royal Seal of approval by King Felipe in 2014. Membership is still available and they have a lot to offer, whether you’re a sailor or not, offering private members lounges, terraces and soon, beach club, adding to the 5 star Alevante restaurant with 20% discount!
Rafael Torres takes us on a tour of the Club and we meet Jorge, in charge of events – big deep sea fishing competition coming up on 16th & 17th September) and Alberto, champion Big Game winner of the past 2 King’s Cup, also member of this long established club.
We also welcome back José Joaquín Orbaneja “Pepequin”, to the show, captain of the Marbella Team who just won the 35th King’s Cup Regatta (Copa del Rey).
Following the very successful dog show Gipsy Cannis at the Exhibition Centre (Palacio de Congresos) last weekend we get to chat with the founder Llanin Marco y Marco and Ana, who put this event together and learn about their mission to get dogs admitted into hospitals to help with patients recovery – a truly fantastic incentive!
To raise money to support this a charity gala diner was held at the “La Meridiana – Alabardero” last Friday, with an outstanding attendance. Our local singer-songwriter Surianne was just one of the entertainers and funds raised are going to the children’s ward of Gregorio Marañon Hospital in Madrid under the project “Perro Azul” (Blue Dog).
Our Linea Directa sponsored spot this week cover the “Bla Bla Car” option for car sharing short and long trips.
To further our understanding of the variety our international community, which helps us broaden our horizons and open new doors of opportunity, we are delighted to introduce this week Vanessa Van Camp, President of the Belgian Business and Community Club España.
This week our Legal Beagle Patrick Grant talks about writing a “Will” in Spain. As Spanish law differs to other countries it’s worth taking note. If you have any questions for Patrick just drop him a line: firstname.lastname@example.org
We also wish to thank Jean René Corradi of the Alevante Restaurant for their hospitality and the Royal Maritime Club for such a warm welcome!
